If you are looking for Fifty-Plus Lifelong Fitness or Lifelong Fitness Alliance, youhave reached the old web site. Please click here to go to the new Lifelong Fitness Alliance web site. Lifelong Fitness Alliance was formerly known as Fifty-Plus Lifelong Fitness.  We are revitalizing the organization to better meet the needs of our communities.

Our redesign of the new web site is complete. We welcome you to contact us to let us know how we might serve you better.

Lifelong Fitness Alliance started the Step It Up program October 1. The goal of the program is to prove that you can encourage individuals and communities to "step up" their physical activity through cooperation, encouragement, goal-setting and incentives. This 10 week pedometer based and ambassador lead program is designed to increase fitness and offers incentives, camaraderie and fun along the way to better health! Visit our Step It Up page to get more details. There is no charge to particpate but we encourage a donation.

 Fall is here. This is one of the best times of the year to get out and about.While most of the leaves have turned and fallen, the weather is refreshing, and it's great to be outdside. We should all take advantage of that and spend time outdoors. The store isn't that far away so why not enjoy a little walk and save some gas? If you want something with a social aspect or to try something new, you might want to visit our Fitness Resources page to get ideas and names of other organizations and clubs that may fit your interest or give you a new idea of an activity to try.

At Lifelong Fitness we want to help people start or continue in achieving an improved level of fitness. In addition to providing information, we have run Fitness Challenge Camps, Annual Fitness Weekends, established the Fitness Ambassadors Corps, and the Step It Up Program. We continually strive to find more ways to get everyone moving, so increase your involvement and independence now by browsing our web site and join us or another fitness activity. Become an Fitness Ambassador for Lifelong Fitness Alliance . You can make a difference and promote the Lifelong Fitness Mission to advocate lifelong wellness and bridge the gap between awareness and action by providing information and opportunities for health and fitness.

 

Events

Walks, bicycle rides, runs, discussion groups and fitness camps are scheduled in the Calendar of Events. We have added a new option to the calendar so you can get a daily, weekly, or monthly view of the Fifty-Plus events on a national or regional basis. Please check it out at Calendar.

Strategic Planning

The Board of Directors, staff and volunteers have formed Committees to review and update the organization's Strategic Plan. Any member is welcome to join a committee and contribute your insight and thoughts to our future. See Committees for the current Committees and members. And remember we always have needs for volunteers the year around, so please check our volunteer opportunities.
